BLACKPINK is a female K-Pop group composed of 4 members. Debuting in 2016, the group quickly rose to prominence locally and internationally, becoming one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, with the most-subscribed and viewed artist channel on YouTube. After their contract expiry in 2023, all 4 members of BLACKPINK renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment for group activities; each member has since signed with a different record label for solo activities. Prior to 2023, BLACKPINK primarily focused on creating, promoting, and touring their music as a group. However, since the contract renewal, every member has prioritised their solo career (eg. starring in acting roles, releasing albums under their own name, creating a brand image based on individual identity), with group reunions being minimal.
